This extra large helmet bag is designed for those drivers that use the Hans Device. It is large enough to fit your helmet and device inside the bag. For 2011, the Snell foundation has announced a helmet standard (SAH2010) that allows helmet makers to permanently bond a nutwasher inside their helmets. This makes attaching a HANS Device helmet anchor easier as you simply screw the anchor into the helmet. As you know from past anchors, the point of the post anchor and the tethers of the HANS Click Quick anchors should point rearward after installation. Older helmets with a moveable nutwasher inside the helmet can orient the anchor by rotating this inner nutwasher. As this is not possible with the SAH2010 fixed nutwashers, HANS has designed a collar system that can be rotated from outside the helmet. These anchors ship with a small wrench designed to facilitate this feature. If you have an SA-rated helmet (not SAH rated), you can use the collar-style anchors but they will come with the nutwashers that are installed inside the helmet.

These anchors can be used with SA and SAH rated helmets.

The anchors for the SA helmets include nutwashers that are installed INSIDE the helmet.

The anchors for the SAH helmets do not include nutwashers.

Quick Click (TM) helmet mounted attachment allows instant connect or disconnect. Works with sliding or fixed tethers. Tethers sold separately.

Accessory gel padding for HANS Devices. Includes two shoulder pads and fits medium, large and XL devices. Soft medical gel pad may address comfort concerns, especially from those with a ridge where a broken collar bone has healed.

The Hans Sport Series II Device offers all the same safety performance as the other Hans Devices, but features an all new rounded collar and recessed sliding tether. The new design not only saves on weight (lighter then the basic Sport - heavier then the Pro), but allows for easier entry/exit in many smaller, tighter vehicles. Constructed from an injection molded super structural carbon fiber, the Hans Sport Series II is available with a 20-degree layback and in Medium or Large sizes.

The HANS Adjustable, which meets the SFI Foundation’s Spec. 38.1 for head and neck restraints, enables all drivers to purchase a HANS with full confidence of a comfortable fit no matter what type of car or racing seat they use. Previously, customers ordered a HANS Device in a fixed angle according to the driver’s physical size and type of seating position in the car -- such as an upright seat in stock cars or a reclined seat in open-wheel machines. “Because it’s adjustable in five-degree increments, this new HANS will improve the fit and comfort for all racers,” said HPP co-founder Jim Downing. “Our goal is to bring the award-winning safety of HANS to all drivers in any type of car, especially the weekend warriors who too often put themselves and their families at risk. A study conducted by the Charlotte Observer found that racing deaths in the U.S. actually increased in the decade after Dale Earnhardt Sr.'s fatal accident at Daytona in 2001 due to fatalities on weekly short tracks and drag strips. “We believe the new HANS is going to create another revolution in head and neck restraints, especially for the weekend warrior,” said Downing. “For over a decade, the HANS has demonstrated its ground-breaking safety technology all over the world in all types of crashes, including multiple impacts and oblique impacts. The HANS Adjustable is another huge step forward. There’s no reason why every driver should not be wearing a HANS head and neck restraint.” The HANS Adjustable is eligible for use in most U.S. racing series. NASCAR, which conducts its own evaluations, currently has the HANS Adjustable under consideration for approval. After passing all the required strength tests, the new device is under final consideration by the safety committee of the FIA, the international sanctioning body.
